Jody Dixon Fine Art

Welcome to Jody's art studio online!  Happy to have you here. This space is a celebration of nature and the whimsical.  Please take a look around.  Take a look through Jody's works of art & let her know what you like.

Jody Dixon is a mixed-media artist, creative maker, and lifelong believer in the power of creativity to connect, encourage, and heal. While she primarily works in acrylics, Jody also enjoys watercolor and other creative mediums, often finding inspiration in the changing seasons and the beauty of everyday life.

Over the years, Jody has taught pop-up art classes in her home and throughout the community, working with everyone from children to adults. Her classes have ranged from simply having fun and getting a little messy with paint to using creativity to process grief, navigate difficult seasons, and reconnect with joy.

Jody is also a social worker specializing in gerontology, hospice, and palliative care. Her professional life and creative life naturally intersect through a shared desire to serve others. She believes every person is a beautiful work of art in progress—capable, imaginative, intelligent, and inherently creative, whether they consider themselves an artist or not.

That philosophy has inspired Jody to design portable art kits for families and clients to use at home. These are more than collections of art supplies; they are thoughtfully and therapeutically curated tools designed to encourage expression, connection, comfort, and creativity.

Jody especially enjoys connecting with people who bring art, in all its forms, into their homes and everyday lives. On a typical summer day, you might find her wandering through her backyard garden with coffee in one hand, a paintbrush in the other, and a well-loved painting apron somewhere in between.

For Jody, creativity and service are difficult to separate. She cannot imagine a life without making something, encouraging someone, or finding beauty in the world around her. Her hope is simple: to keep painting, creating, serving, and sharing a little joy for all the days she is given on this big, beautiful world we call home.
